ConfigurationDesk is an intuitive graphical configuration and implementation tool. It is ideal for handling large HIL real-time applications based on dSPACE real-time hardware such as SCALEXIO and MicroAutoBox III.
A Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) application always contains at least two different parts: one behavior model and one I/O model. By separating these models, it is possible to generate code for only the section that has changed and thereby speeding up the building process.
This separation of the behavior- and I/O model in two different tools create a new and more effective process for the HIL-group. The model developers can work in parallel from their respective PC, and the behavior model is not limited to Simulink®. All modelling tools which can generate an FMU 2.0 (FMI 2.0 for co-simulation) can be used as a behavior model for simulation on a SCALEXIO HIL. Code from the respective model is imported and combined in ConfigurationDesk. Finally, a complete code builds and downloaded to the processor on the hardware.
It is also possible to integrate a virtual ECU (V-ECU), which is useful if the actual ECU isn’t available. Another use case is to include a precompiled function from a subcontractor who doesn’t want to provide their functions as C-code or a simulation model. ConfigurationDesk gives them an easy way of protecting their IP.
It is possible to define and document external units, such as ECUs and loads, and include their properties. Example of these properties is electrical properties, a configuration of fault injection, configuration of loads and common descriptions. ConfigurationDesk shows the user-defined layout of the signals from the I/O on the ECU/load to the behavior model. It is also possible to generate a file with data on cables and external units to use when building the cable harness.
ConfigurationDesk also has a Configuration Version which is used to configure and diagnose RapidPro hardware and supports in putting the hardware into operation.
